This St Patrick’s Day we are delighted to have partnered with the Luton Irish Forum to organise the Luton St Patrick’s Festival, running from 12th – 17th March 2022.

First held in Luton in 2000, the festival is now a leading attraction in the Luton cultural calendar, bringing Irish music, dance and drama to the streets and entertainment venues of Luton.
Our community is a core pillar of Luton Rising and we are delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the St Patrick’s Day traditions.
The Parade, held last Sunday, marked a return to normality post-Covid, and showcased the very best of Irish music, song and dance with artists and groups, including national and international Champions, from both sides of the Irish Sea.
Luton’s cultural diversity allows those from across the community to celebrate each other’s unique heritage. Luton St Patrick’s Festival made Irish heritage accessible to everyone through a variety of events, the majority of which were free to attend, including:
– Luton St Patrick’s Festival Guide
– School workshops
– Community events
– Choir rehearsals
– Sean O’Riada Irish (sung) Mass
– Parade
– St Patrick’s Day Celebrations with live music and dance in multiple locations
– Market and Family Area on Parade Day
Cllr Javeria Hussain, Chair of Luton Rising said, “I strongly believe in the importance of investing into arts and culture, which play an important role in shaping Luton’s community. I’m grateful that Luton Rising were able to support St Patrick’s Day Festival this year, contributing to a tradition which brings our town together”.

To celebrate the return to a full events programme in Luton, Luton Rising have launched a new grant which residents and organisations are able to apply for to run their own local neighbourhood activity or cultural event.
Groups across Luton who wish to organise events in their local community can bid for the funds. Event organisers will need to demonstrate a safe and good-quality, free community event that celebrates heritage, diversity and encourages understanding of other cultures.
