Apprentices at Luton Rising promoted to permanent staff members

Luton Rising is delighted to be able to celebrate the fantastic success of our apprentices, who were promoted to full time staff members last month.

This is a huge milestone for our apprentices, who have worked hard over 12 months to develop their skills through training and professional work experience. They have become valued members of the Luton Rising team, who contribute across different areas of the business, including project management, business administration and marketing.

Luton Rising champions job opportunities for the local community and believes that apprenticeships are an accessible steppingstone in creating long-term careers in local businesses. Apprenticeships are also an important aspect of Luton Council’s 2040 vision, which has a strong focus on giving young people the best start in life in Luton through opportunities which allow them to gain skills and improve their employment prospects.

Luton Rising also took on more than 30 apprentices on the DART development project, providing development opportunities as part of the Construction Skills Training Hub in partnership with Luton Council and Volker Fitzpatrick-Kier.

Graham Olver, CEO at Luton Rising says,

“Apprenticeships bring us major benefits as a local Luton employer. We value the positive impact apprentices can have on the business and the local economy and look forward to seeing their continued career progression with Luton Rising now that they have graduated from the scheme.”

Niamh, Business Administration Apprentice

Niamh joined Luton Rising in April 2021 as a Business Administration Apprentice at Luton Rising. In just a year she developed her skillset in human resources, recruitment and business administration. Her hard work and brilliant organisational skills have made her a valuable team member and we are delighted that she has accepted a permanent position as Luton Rising’s Executive Team Administrator.

Kyran, Commercial Project Officer Apprentice

Kyran started off as our Commercial Project Officer Apprentice, working alongside our programme directors on Luton Rising’s development projects such as the Luton DART and Morton House on planning, construction and business administration. Kyran began his journey here in April 2021 and we are excited to announce that he has been promoted to Luton Rising’s Programme Support Administrator.

Rosie, Social Media Apprentice

As a Social Media Apprentice, Rosie has played an important role in managing the Luton Rising communications channels. She has learnt how to create original content and campaigns as part of the wider communications and engagement strategy, even launching two new channels for Luton Rising – LinkedIn and Instagram. We are thrilled that Rosie has become Luton Rising’s Social Media Coordinator as she plays an essential role in the Marketing Team.
