Fireworks are back with a bang!

Thanks to everyone who attended the Luton’s FREE annual fireworks spectacular event last Saturday 6 November. We were so pleased to return to Popes Meadow for this Luton-wide tradition. The fireworks display is one Luton’s most well attended events, bringing diverse communities together to enjoy the stunning entertainment in the sky.

The lifting of restrictions and return of outdoor events, with Covid-safe measures being put in place, ensured that the event was able to go ahead safely after the 2020 event had to be cancelled due the pandemic.

Robin Porter, Chief Executive of Luton Council, said:

“After a terrible 20 months, the return of the fireworks display does signal that life in Luton is starting to return to some sort of normal after smaller outdoor events successfully returned during the summer. We know that this particular event is loved by many in our communities.”

Background entertainment began at 6:30pm with the main fireworks display starting at 7:30pm for all to enjoy. Fairground rides, and food and drink stalls were also available.

The event, sponsored by Luton Rising, using funds already committed from the cancelled 2020 event, is a celebration of the return to normal.
