Luton Rising have been proud to sponsor and attend a diverse range of community events over the last year. We are much more than an airport, and these events provide the opportunity to show that, whilst building on our connection to the local community.
Led by the Chair of Luton Rising Cllr Javeria Hussain, Luton Rising representatives attended 12 events across Luton over the year. We engaged with residents and communicated how the airport can benefit the local community in terms of job creation, economic growth, and community support. Our vision is centred around our community and our planet, whose ambitions can be driven by the asset of the airport.
The events that Luton Rising attended and supported included:
Luton Community Awards, Big Trunk Trail Auction, Fairness Taskforce Launch, Luton Rising Launch Event, 2021 Kente Festival 19/11, Venue 360, Sikh Community Soup Kitchen, Lighting up Luton Event, Luton 2040 Conference, Christmas Fayre at Lewsey Community Centre, Love Luton Luton’s Best Awards, Luton Council Staff Conference and Stand at the Christmas Market in High Town.
A landmark event of 2021 was the Luton Rising Launch Event. The launch was held on the 18th November 2021 at Hart House from 2-5pm. 120 people were in attendance, with 50 in-person attendees, and a further 70 virtually. We introduced our new brand, which will play a key role in telling our story, whilst we use action to show we are much more than an airport.
Additionally, Luton Rising was delighted to sponsor and attend the popular Love Luton Best Awards. The event was held on the 3rd December 2021 at Luton Hoo from 6.30-11pm. 250 people attended the event to celebrate the achievements of individuals and organisations dedicated to the town of Luton. Luton Rising is committed to the local community and its charities, reflected through community celebrations such as the Best Awards.
Building relationships with the residents of Luton reaffirms our commitment to our community. We aspire for future generations to thrive through the benefit of the airport; maximising the value of our greatest asset.
