In 2004, he joined John Laing Plc, where he led a team delivering a pipeline of some £3bn of projects, all in partnership with the public sector. He led on health, education, housing and transport projects and adjacent real estate development.
For the last seven years of his executive career, he was Managing Director at London and Continental Railways where he led on major development projects around stations including Kings Cross, Stratford and Manchester.
Luton Rising Independent Chair, Paul Kehoe CBE, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jamie to Luton Rising. He brings with him a wealth of experience working in real estate and infrastructure development, and this will be invaluable as we move into the next phases of the company’s growth.”
Alongside his role at Luton Rising, Mr Kerr is a Board member of the London Legacy Development Corporation, Westminster City Council’s Property Investment Panel, a Governor at University of Brighton, and a Trustee of Safe Have London, a homeless charity. He also works as a consultant to the public sector on development and transport.
Managing Director Nick Platts said: “Jamie’s arrival further strengthens our Board expertise as we gear up our work as an economic development engine, focused on the delivery of long-term sustainable growth of the airport and significant social impact and employment benefits for local and neighbouring communities.”
