Owing to the amber storm warnings in place across the region, the in-person consultation event for the proposed long-term expansion of London Luton Airport that was scheduled to be held on Friday 18 February at Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre (from 3-8pm) has been POSTPONED.
Cllr Javeria Hussain, chair of Luton Rising, said: “An amber storm warning means that people are advised to take extra care when travelling, and that there is a risk of disruption and even danger to life from flying debris. For safety reasons, we are clear that no-one should have to make an unnecessary journey tomorrow on our account.
“We apologise sincerely for the inconvenience caused for reasons which are clearly beyond our control. We are already working to reschedule this important consultation event in Stevenage before the consultation closes on 4 April 2022, if at all possible, so that local people can meet our project team and ask any questions they may have about our proposals. We will make a further announcement as soon as possible.”
In the meantime please visit our online consultation room available 24/7 at www.lutonrising.org.uk to learn more about the plans for our airport expansion and provide your response to the consultation.
