Planting hope for our community

Luton’s Peace Garden is one of the hundreds of community organisations to which Luton Rising has contributed £180m in total over the last 25 years. Luton’s Peace Garden Initiative, planting a tree to remember each person who died from Covid in Luton, is just one of its projects nurturing community cohesion and mutual support.

The aim of the Peace Garden is to give families who have lost members of their family to the pandemic an opportunity to plant a tree. The trees have been planted by volunteers and the family members of the people who lost their lives to Covid-19. The Peace Garden has a dedicated space in Wigmore Park to help people through the bereavement process.
