Helping our community flower
Luton in Bloom is one of the hundreds of community organisations to which Luton Rising has contributed £180m in total over the last 25 years. Much more than a gardening competition, it’s about connecting people with nature, improving physical and mental wellbeing, instilling civic pride and improving the look and feel of our town.
Gardening can help improve wellbeing and this initiative is truly grassroots, being led by community and faith organisations, with support and facilitation from Luton Rising and Luton Council.
They organise gardening workshops to help nurture those green fingers and in the long term, they aim to launch a community farmers market for locals to sell what they have grown.
