Providing tens of thousands of meals
Community Interest Luton (CIL) is one of the hundreds of community organisations to which Luton Rising has contributed £180m in total over the last 25 years. CIL is a charity working in partnership with local third and public sector organisations and businesses, to reduce unemployment, raise skills levels, increase volunteering, and promote educational opportunities.
One project is the Curry Kitchen, providing hot, nutritious meals to those who are most in need from across Luton, as well as delivering hot meals to local homeless shelters. The project is run thanks to volunteers from various local businesses and the local community who work together to support Luton’s most vulnerable people. Since the project started, they have provided tens of thousands of hot meals.
